The first community-oriented project undertaken by the TAO (Triskelion Alumni Organization) was the “Alay sa Kabataan ng Sta. Ana, Manila Mula sa TAO,” a basketball tournament participated in by the youth of ten (10) barangays in Sta. Ana, Manila, held at Plaza Hugo, Sta, Ana, 6th District, Manila, in May, 1979. In photo is Bro. Jay (UST Chapter), who served as manager of one of the teams. The TAO was founded in 1979, by Thomasian Triskelions and its Articles of Incorporation and By-laws were written in the office of Bro. Mike M. (UST Chapter) at the then Delos Santos Building, in front of Santo Domingo Church, Quezon Avenue, Quezon City. Photo Credit to Bro. / Atty. Jay #thomasiantriskelion #TAO #throwback
It’s graduation season once again and the Thomasian Triskelion community has been blessed with two great alumni who will be graduating with latin honors.
Bro. Roengen Janaban (UST Chapter) graduated from the UST Central Seminary on March 22, 2014 with a degree of Bachelor of Arts in Sacred Theology. His general weighted average of 1.46 qualified him to be a cum laude. Bro. Roengen intends to serve his country by enlisting in the Military Oridinariate of the Philippines as an Air Force Chaplain.
Bro. Rex Aquino (UST Chapter) will not be outdone. Bro. Rex also from the UST Central Seminary likewise graduated as a cum laude. He also intends to serve the Military Oridinariate of the Philippines as one of the chaplains of the Philippine National Police.
Congratulations and Good Luck Bro. Roengen and Bro. Rex. We pray that God will be always on your side as you serve our beloved Philippines.
From Bro / Atty. Jay de Castro (UST ’73) : Here’s a piece of history: December 28, 1976 issue of the Bulletin Today (which I saw today, January 19, 2014, while looking for old photos), published thirty-eight (38) years ago, an early sign of the supremacy of the Tau Gamma Phi Fraternity. I was elected as the Chairman of the FROUST (Fraternal Organization of the University of Santo Tomas), the first union of fraternities in the Philippines.
“Committed to excellence, committed to service. This is what we are. We dedicate ourselves to a life in pursuit of excellence in medicine, in commerce, in the arts, in whatever avocation we as individuals take. The Tau Gamma Sigma, the proud, the brave, the strong, Grand Sorority of the Supreme Fraternity, we take pride in being Thomasians as much as we take pride in being Sigmas. The challenge is to rise above adversity, always, at all times, and live by the code that defines a Triskelion. Be one of us.” ~ Marty UST ’87
Happy 45th Anniversary Tau Gamma Sigma Sorority!
