Thomasian Triskelion Freshman Night, A Success!

Posted on October 14th, 2004 in Projects by Admin

Freshmen NightWelcome Party for the Freshman a Success!!! More than 100 students from different college attended the Freshman night. Simple program started with invocation led by Bro. / Fr. Bobby de la Cruz, MDG (1977). A resident brod gave a brief history of chapter followed by welcome remarks by Bro. Mark Rillo (1990) and inspiration talk by Bro / Atty Gabo Castillo, MDG (1992).

The drink all you can party was something new to the freshman. In the early part of the party the freshmen were a bit nervous, but after the inspiration speech of Atty. Gabo all became relaxed. Mark 1st year from College of Engineering says “Astig, ang ginawa ng Tau Gamma Phi!!! Ngayon may mga kaibigan na kami from higher batches and from different colleges pa”. There were also games during the program and cash prizes were given. For sure this will be a start of something big, were thinking of holding this kind of event at least twice a year says Bro. Badjon del Mundo, MDG (1991).

Mondo aka Mon Castro (1994) of Pin-Up Girls

Posted on October 14th, 2004 in Entertainment by Admin

MondoMon Castro (Thomasian Triskelion Batch 1994) has a job as a mild-mannered DJ on NU107,where among other things, he hosts special shows like EuroRock and Club Retro . A few nights a week, he morphs into the dynamic frontman for the indie band Pin-Up Girls , which has taken the indie label quite seriously by deciding to record and produce their own independent album “soft-launched” last 2001 at Mayrics, entitled “Hello Pain” . For the modest budget of around P60,000 (raised over a series of garage sales) they have managed to bypass the major labels (who have bypassed them as well) and come up with their very own CD after all these years. Maybe it’s the schizophrenia of it all that caused Mon to scream into a headphone jack when we simply asked him to smile for the nice camera. Now a punk attitude like that shouldn’t go to waste, and deserves a 70’s grainy Black-and-white Tri-X photo treatment. Still, for the ladies that prefer a cuddlier, less threatening Mondo, we offer the color snap on the right, suitable for tucking in your wallets for that swoon on the go.

The Right Perspective

TOL LogoPlease be advised that pursuant to the election conducted last Saturday (07/03/04) at 10:00 pm (Deo’s soon to open bar & restaurant), the following were elected as officers.

Chairman Rodney Abong

The TOL is taking a bold leap towards attaintment “of a better and stronger Triskelion Grand Fraternity”, and such is proven by the willingness of LLB and Atty brods to assume and continue the leadership of the TOL.

I would like to take this time to thank each and every brod for the support and assistance they extended me and my officers in the last school year. Likewise, I would like to apologize for each and every shortcoming (unfulfilled plans and promises) commited during my term, I take full responsibility for such failure.

And finally, I would like once again to call and solicit the cooperation and help of each and every brods ” in extending all possible help and assistance” to the new chairman. In all his plans and activities for this school year.
