Thomasian Triskelion Freshman Night, A Success!
Welcome Party for the Freshman a Success!!! More than 100 students from different college attended the Freshman night. Simple program started with invocation led by Bro. / Fr. Bobby de la Cruz, MDG (1977). A resident brod gave a brief history of chapter followed by welcome remarks by Bro. Mark Rillo (1990) and inspiration talk by Bro / Atty Gabo Castillo, MDG (1992).
The drink all you can party was something new to the freshman. In the early part of the party the freshmen were a bit nervous, but after the inspiration speech of Atty. Gabo all became relaxed. Mark 1st year from College of Engineering says “Astig, ang ginawa ng Tau Gamma Phi!!! Ngayon may mga kaibigan na kami from higher batches and from different colleges pa”. There were also games during the program and cash prizes were given. For sure this will be a start of something big, were thinking of holding this kind of event at least twice a year says Bro. Badjon del Mundo, MDG (1991).
The event was well attended by TAU / Triskelion Alumni of Ust from batches 70’s, 80’s and most number of alumni from batch 90’s. “Iba ang event na to kasi unlike other orgs they do the freshmen a favor or throw a party tapos recruit na. I cocorner na mga studyante. We don’t do that. We simply want to welcome the freshman and for them to have fun. That’s it”. says Atty. Luis Ballelos, MDG (1995). Also during the party junior brods and sis from different schools expressed their interest to become Senior THOMASIAN TRISKELIONS. At least 20 students expressed interest in joining. Jenny a 2nd student from College of Science lots of your brods are cute, and your alumni are in full support and this event. It’s very interesting to see your brods and sis from 70’s still attending this kind of event. Sis Liza Anza (1979) was also there to attend the event and promised to get her batchmates more involved next time.
With this event a success, definitely this will be something to be worth looking forward to. Hail to our Alma mater University of Sto. Tomas! Mabuhay ang TOMASINONG TRISKELION!!!
