A fire of still undetermined origin has adversely affected 272 families composed of 1,698 individuals.

Numbers of damaged houses are still being accounted by the LGU. The Pagadian City Mayor and his wife spearheaded the distribution of food assistance to the fire victims. Some of the victims sought temporary refuge for shelter at Santiago Elementary School while others are staying with their relatives. No casualty was reported.

UPDATE REPORT (as of August 12, 2005)

A total of two hundred ninety-three (293) families composed of 1,502 persons were affected.
Of the number affected, 228 family evacuees or 1,140 persons are still taking temporary shelter in Santiago Elementary School.

I got a sad news from Bro. Milky Chaves, an Alumnus from Pagadian City, that a huge fire burned-out a major part of Brgy Santiago in Pagadian City. At least nine (9) Brods who are residents of the area lost their homes. They are the following:
