Once more, Board of Directors and members of Northeast Triskelion Incorporated marched down Madison Avenue in Manhattan, NYC in celebration of the 113th Philippine Independence Day on June 5, 2011. It is NTI’s 7th consecutive year of participation in the annual event described as the largest celebration outside the Philippines. This year’s theme is “Bagong Katipunan. Bagong Diwa. Bagong Pilipino”.Although the NTI marchers were just a fraction of its roster, NTI manifested its pride and solidarity to fellow “kababayans” , tourists and New Yorkers alike. The Triskelion contingent was spearheaded by Bro. Danny (UST 74), President of TGFS USA National Council and Sis Susan (AdU 77), Executive Director, NTI and President, Northeast Regional Council along with Board members Bro. Ferdie (DLS Lipa 92), Bro. Allan (UST 96), Bro. Jing (UE 78), Bro. Jed (UST 05), Bro. Raymund (STI 02), Bro. Jay (PSBA 87), and NERC Vice-President , Bro. Conrad (TYM 90). The NTI paraders were joined by 5 brods from TMAR (Triskelions of Mid-Atlantic Region) and 3 brods from TRISEAL (Triskelion Seafarers League) of Norwegian Jewel of Norwegian Cruise Line.Northeast Triskelion Inc. is a non-profit organization composed of members of Tau Gamma Phi and Tau Gamma Sigma residing in the states of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.     NTI has awarded its 1st scholarship grants for SY 2009-2010 to Triskelions Basilio Salao, Jr in University of the Philippines and Jessa Malabanan Herrera in World Citi Colleges. Sis January E. Sarte was awarded scholarship for SY 2010-2011 for undergraduate studies in North Valley College Foundation, Inc in Kidapawan City, North Cotabato. Seven more Triskelions will receive scholarships this SY 2011-2012.
