Bro. Robert Roque(UST Chapter ‘79) named Philippine Lions’ Council Chairperson

The Lions Clubs International Board of Directors declared recently District 301-A1 Past District Governor Bro. Robert B. Roque Jr. (UST ‘79) as the Multiple District 301 (Philippines) Council Chairperson for the year 2011-2012.

The International Board issued the decision last October 7 at the close of its 2nd Board Meeting held in Hong Kong. Roque heads the State Council of Governors composed of the eight district governors of the Philippines, which has 358 clubs with approximately 12,500 members under its jurisdiction.

As council chairperson, he sits as vice chairperson of the 50th Orient and South East Asian Lions (OSEAL) Forum to be held from November 24 to 27 in Manila where around 6,000 foreign delegates are expected to attend.

Bro. Robert, who is the editor of the newspaper Tempo of the Manila Bulletin Publishing Corporation, is a member of the Manila Sampaloc Lions Club for the past 23 years.
